One of the intimidating (but also exciting!) aspects of
adventure racing is navigating your team through the
course with only a map and compass.
We're here to help!
In the morning classroom session, you'll learn to
interpret topo maps, use your compass, plot UTM
coordinates, plan your race route, figure out where
you are and more importantly, figure out how to get
where you're going. The afternoon will be spent
applying your newfound navigational prowess on a bush
trek, with the help of experienced adventure racers.

WHAT TO BRING:
- Compass (preferably declination adjustable)
- Pencil, Highlighter(s)
- Waterproof map bag (or large ziploc bag)
- Outdoor shoes & hiking/bushwhacking clothes (appropriate for weather)
- Water bottle/Hydration pack, backpack, snacks
- Whistle, sunglasses, bug spray, sunscreen
